DECEMBER begins our drive to assist the Salvation Army - Canton. Run to You Racing / Pro Football Hall of Fame Marathon have been fortunate to keep our doors open during these tough times. We don't need your money this Holiday Season....they do. We deeply appreciate any support you can provide via our VIRTUAL RED KETTLE which will help fund many worthy community programs.

 

Your donation will be matched 100% dollar for dollar during this drive.

Did You Know?

Our local Salvation Army provides the following services to the community.

 

RENT/MORTGAGE & UTILITY ASSISTANCE

  • Customers are able to receive up to one month's rent/mortgage and/or utility payment in a 12 month period. Customers call on Monday mornings to schedule appointments.

  • Appointments are conducted M-F and all customers are pre-screened for eligibility before appointment is made.

  • At the time of the appointment, documents are reviewed to confirm income, expenses, members of household, etc. Any payment is made directly to the vendor (landlord, bank, utility company.)

HOMELESS SERVICES

  • Screen and Provide Homeless Certificates (Mondays - Fridays | 8:30am - 3:30pm)

  • Homeless Showers (Mondays - Fridays | 8:30am - 10:00am)

  • Homeless Bag Lunches (Mondays - Fridays | 1:00pm)

  • Homeless Motel Voucher Program

CLOTHING/SHOE ASSISTANCE

  • Clothing Vouchers to Salvation Army Thrift Store for individuals who need clothing due to disaster, domestic violence, homelessness or other circumstances.

  • Referral to Clothing Closet for business attire for job interviews

  • Vouchers to Payless Shoes for work and school shoes

FOOD PANTRY

  • Customers may receive a bag of food (3 meals for 3 days) once a month. (Tuesdays | 10:00am - 2:00pm)

SOUP KITCHEN

  • Meals are provided for anyone Sundays | 6:00pm - 7:00pm & Mondays | 11:00am - 1:00pm

ADULT LITERACY (Mondays & Wednesdays | 1:00pm - 3:00pm)

  • This program is a part of the Mayor's Reading Task Force.

  • Students are screened at the Library and referred to appropriate programs. This program provides instructions for adults reading at grade levels K-3.

  • Licensed Teacher provides instruction on literacy and basic math

LEARNING ZONE (Mondays - Fridays | 2:00pm - 5:30pm)

  • After-School tutorial and homework-help for students in grades 2-6

  • Weekly classes in reading, math, art and computers

  • Students are transported by The Salvation Army from school and parents pick-up children after the program

  • Students receive a snack and recreation time every day

MUSIC & MORE (Mondays | 4:30pm - 7:00pm)

  • Music & Performing Arts classes for students grades 2-8

  • Transportation and Dinner provided

SENIORS PROGRAM (Mondays, Wednesdays, Friday | 10:00am - 2:00pm)

  • Social, educational and recreational program for adults ages 55 and older.

WOMEN'S HOME LEAGUE (Tuesdays | 6:30pm - 8:00pm)

  • Program for women ages 16 and older focusing on education, fellowship, service & worship

MEN'S CLUB (Tuesdays | 6:30pm - 8:00pm)

  • Program for Men ages 16 and older focusing on recreation, education, fellowship, service & worship

TEEN NIGHT (Friday | 6:30pm - 8:30pm)

  • Program for individuals ages 13-19 focusing on recreation, education, fellowship, service & worship
